Bella Kay Explains Why Noah Kahan’s Success ‘Means Everything’ to Her

Bella Kay has enjoyed a breakthrough year after her searing single, “iloveitiloveitiloveit,” burst onto the Billboard Hot 100 at the top of 2026. Her run of success has included the release of her debut album, My Reckless Abandon; the cover of the latest issue of Billboard alongside fellow rising stars Slayyyter and Trueno; and some high-profile live bookings in addition to her own headlining shows.

One of those enviable gigs is as an opener on Noah Kahan’s ongoing The Great Divide stadium tour, which Bella will join in November for a nine-date run across Scotland, England and Ireland. During the Billboard cover interview with co-chief content officer Jason Lipshutz, she reflected on Kahan’s steady rise to stadium headliner, and what it means to see such a vulnerable singer-songwriter succeed on that level.
“I think it means everything,” Bella explains. “Noah’s so insanely talented; his album is crazy. I grew up hearing his songs and being a fan, and so it’s super cool to see him doing stadiums. I’m so proud of him. I think he deserves it, for sure.”
When it comes to Kahan’s authenticity now existing at such a grand scale, Bella continues, “I think it’s really scary to be an artist and put yourself out there on the line like that, and be able to just write what you feel and not care that thousands and thousands of people are gonna hear it and see and feelings and opinions.” That unvarnished truth can be heard across My Reckless Abandon, which was released July 12 and deals with topics including racial identity, struggles related to food and modern teenage romance.
“It was really important to me on the album to not just talk about ‘Oh, I’m in love’ or ‘Oh, I hate you’ because life is so much more than that,” Bella says. “I think a lot about how my fans, or just people that are going to be listening, will take those songs. I think, when I was growing up, I would have loved to know that somebody else felt like I was feeling.”
“iloveitiloveitiloveit” peaked at No. 17 on the Hot 100 following its January release. In addition to opening for Kahan this fall, Bella will join Gracie Abrams for a run of arena shows in 2027.
